Frequently Asked Questions
As 19th July 2021 marked an Independence Day with country emerging from coronavirus pandemic, we want to reassure all of our clients, their loved ones and our employees that we are doing everything we can to continue to provide the high-quality care that we are known for, whilst ensuring that we all remain as safe as is possible during the ongoing pandemic.
We continue to work closely with our partners, Health Authorities, the UKHCA and Care Regulators in England in order to protect employees and our clients whilst maintaining service delivery.
Contacting us during lockdown
Should there be any further lockdowns, we will work in line with government guidelines. Our office teams have successfully worked from home during the hight of pandemic. Therefore, should there be a further need, we will continue to have arrangements in place to ensure you can still contact each of our teams, with call diverts in place as needed and email contact being maintained.
What extra precautions are Endurance Health taking?
At Endurance Health, we want to ensure that all our employees and clients remain as safe as possible during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak and to do so. Our company-wide protocols and procedures will be updated frequently as the pandemic continues.
This virus is very contagious, so it’s important that we all follow our coronavirus guidelines and NHS guidelines in order to protect ourselves and our clients.
Will Endurance Health still provide care for me if I’m self-isolating or have coronavirus?
If you are an Endurance Health client and suspect that you have coronavirus, you must contact your local care manager as soon as possible. Please be rest assured that we will not stop your care and will work with you to keep your care in place whilst protecting our carers.
We will assess each situation on a case-by-case basis but ultimately, we will aim to keep a continuation of care for any client who is self-isolating or with a confirmed case of coronavirus.
We also have senior staff on duty who will monitor oxygen levels throughout the period of self isolation.
What if my carer(s) has coronavirus?
Our staff who have symptoms of coronavirus or are confirmed having coronavirus, will be off duty. We are following all the latest NHS and Government advice, including requiring anyone to self-isolate if they test positive for coronavirus (COVID-19). Your carer will be replaced by another carer on a temporary basis. This is the same protocol that would be followed if a carer was unwell, which is:
Carer notifies their manager that they are unwell and unable to go into work.
They will be told not to return to work until they are better. If they have been advised to self-isolate, they will be off work in line with Government guidance.
There may be a situation when your live-in carer and you, the client both show symptoms of coronavirus, then you both can self-isolate together if the client is comfortable with this situation. Alternatively, your care manager will arrange for another live-in carer to replace your regular carer as soon as possible.
I would like to go ahead with Endurance Health but I am still worried about coronavirus.
Endurance Health are following advice from the Government, NHS and Care Quality Commission (CQC), and have put extra precautions in place to protect both our clients and carers.
We have successfully cared for hundreds of clients through hopefully the worst now. It has been business as usual for a while now. We have been taking on new clients since the begging of pandemic and would like to reassure you that thanks to our amazing staff care has not been compromised. If the advice from the Government changes, we will update our position as necessary.
When do we need to start thinking about moving my loved one to a care home?
There are many benefits to receiving home care, from the continuity of care to familiar surroundings. Everyone’s situation is different; from infection control point of view, care at home poses lesser risk of spread than the one in the care home.
During pandemic we have less family visiting my loved one. I am worried about my relative’s mental wellbeing.
Our staff are well equipped to spot signs of anxiety or concern. You will have an allocated Mental Health First Aider to assist, should such concern be raised. Also, we have digital technology and connecting families together remotely, to maintain important relationships. A specific plan of care will cater for mental health through games and activities.
Are Endurance Health using the NHS Test and Trace app?
Endurance Health is encouraging all of our carers and staff to use the NHS Test and Trace system via their mobile phones whenever they enter a company office
